Morning Glories 2011 #19

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Oops, I had left the computer Karen so missed your post. Love your excerpts from the lovely poem by Rita Sackville West.

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

Me too!

whiteflys... mix up dish soap and a little olice oil or canola oil. Add Windex. spray plants and surrounding soil. use your laundry water for watering. the soap kills the bugs. all my plants get the wash and the rinse water mixed with fert and windex.

LOL @ the fun!

"Roses are red
Morning Glories ain't
Easiest way to get one
Is with spray paint" ^_^

aww Nick! LOL

try as you might and sing while you do
a rampant morning glory will still get to you!

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

LOL Nick and Debra.

Debra, the thought of Windex kinda scares me but I'm desperate so I'll try it soon.
Thanks for the tip.

nothing has been harmed by it, Jackie and I use it all the time on everything here.. mg's included.. it is just soap and ammonia,, they love it.

(Zone 7a)

hee hee

But if the morning glory can't find you,
the easiest way is to spray paint yourself
with glow-in-the-dark jelly-fish goo.

more about jelly-fish genes: http://gawker.com/5839142/scientists-produce-glow+in+the+dark-cats

imagine trying this with moonflower vines? Actually, many years ago, the Washington Post published a do-it-yourself recipe for glowing tomatoes that exposes a newly germinated tomato still in the embryonic stage to phosphorescent bacteria in a petri dish - the stem with leaves in cotyledon stage are severed from the roots above the crown, and then both parts spend time with the bacteria in the petri dish.

Debra, I;ll try to get some spraying done tomorrow. Can't wait to see how it works.

Oh I like both of those Helena. The pretty purple with some blizzard going on is a really nice color.
Is that gorgeous pink from Pink Porcelain or its cross?

Is this a tri-color seed pod? I haven't seen one in so long, lol

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

beautiful sight for tired eyes, Helena.
gosh Jackie, I have no clue ,,,, looks like what I had on my HB..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Debra. If you had this type pod on Heavenly Blue which is a tri-color then yes thats what I have.
This has to be from my Blue Star that grew on the fence.

Edited to add this was purchased as a pkt of Flying Saucers. This is from one of those
companies that always has them mis-labeled.
