ism.dll ??

I'm trying to install software for an Epson stylus photo RX500 printer. Everything works except the smart panel. When I click on smart panel it says I am missing my ism.dll. I looked this up on line. I think IF I understand this correctly, I must have deleted something when I uninstall my old printer. The trash has been emptied many times since then. I also read that I shouldn't just download an ism because some aren't safe. Please help!
