Looking for native seed.

Arlington, TX

Quincula lobata, purple ground cherry. Does anyone have seed of this Western native? I have some native perennial seeds to trade.

Two DG members have it on their lists:

Neither of the 2 people listed as having seeds are still active members so there is no real source then.

do you mean chinese lanterns? i have a few seeds

sun city, CA(Zone 9a)

i am asking because that is what came up when i googled the scientific name. not what came up when i searched plant files for the common name

Arlington, TX

Not the annual chineese laterns with the red pods. This plant is a western native that just happens to sometimes be called by the same common name. This is the plant I am looking for, if you have seeds of it, I would find something to trade for them. I believe the more commonly used name is purple groundcherry.

Ooo that's pretty. Looks like it would make a nice ground cover.

So lets find some then!

Cal flora lists it as: Physalis lobata

http://www.calflora.org/cgi-bin/species_query.cgi?where-calrecnum=6481

and they do not show any sources for it sorry
