How to mass Email ?

I have Windows Mail and Vista. I want to create mass email to peope of certain groups, like Iris lovers, or Lisianthus lovers, so forth. I don't want all the email addresses to show up to the recipients. How does one do this? Do you have to use other software?

I tried creating a contact *group* in Windows Mail. In the contact group, I added my secondary email address. I then created an email to send (sending it to myself at my primary email address) and added the group as a BCC recipient. This did not work, as I did not receive the test email to my secondary email address.
