Coleus grown in pots - July vs. Sept.

Daisy, they all look great. I hope you bring them inside before the frost. We always have some cuttings just in case.

Ours are also in containers so they can winter come inside. How did you protect them from Hurricane Irene?

Thanks for all of the nice compliments!

Marcia, I didn't do anything to protect them during the hurricane, since the pots are big and wouldn't tip over. Luckily none of the stems broke in the wind!

Daisy, I took in all the small containers and left the big ones outside. I had visions of the tornado from the Wizard of Oz, but one fell over. I think we moved about 50 plants. Luckily our front porch is covered and protected on two sides.

Afterwards we must have raked up 100 branches.

I have developed a real love of Caladiums too. This planting reminds me of Hosta>
