tropical look in Toronto

Toronto, ON(Zone 6b)

Even though I was away all summer, my bananas did very well. I wish that I had more space to grow my plants. I am including a photo.

What a beautiful oasis you have, Robb! Who waters all your plants when you're away? (No, I'm not volunteering!).

When my kids were younger we had a nanny that we had to employ even though we were away all summer. Her responsibilities were the cat and watering the garden. This summer we had someone staying in our house while we were away so they watered. Whoever cares for the garden, there always seem to be some pots that are missed and suffer. I have a 6ft lemon and a 5 ft navel orange and they sometimes drop their fruit if allowed to dry out.

Robb, I have had four citrus trees growing in containers for about 11 years now, and not one of them has ever flowered. A dropped fruit would be a fine thing! You obviously have much greener fingers than me. Keep up the good work!
