Morning Glories 2011 #15

Garland, TX(Zone 8a)

Nice blooms, folks!

It's cloudy and there's water falling from the sky here in the Dallas metroplex–something we've not experienced in quite a while. Oh, and it's not going to get to 100° today (even though we managed to break the record for most 100° days yesterday)!

Blooming in the south-facing window today in the air-conditioned house is 'Chiaki'

Nick I really like those blooms and think it is neat they are inside.. good for you on the rain!

Helena, one of your purples with rayed center was open the other day, but was running late for work, hope to catch a shot of it this weekend..
your flowers are always so gorgeous.

Thanks to Dany, Black King will always be one of my favorites!

Taken without flash cause flash makes it come out lighter, it is a dark bloom!!

wow beautiful flowers!
Question! : Is Cocoa Chocolate darker?

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Helena, beautiful flowers. I think mine are changing due to the cooler temps we got going on here. I know that makes for interesting changes in the bloom color/s.
Your Black King is amazing. Great photo too.
Dany I don;t think Cocoa Choc is as dark as Black King. One of my
pics from last yr.

Thank you Dany and Jackie. My Cocoa Chocolate did have a dark color but are were not as dark as your Black King. I haven't grown Cocoa Chocolate for the last 2 years. Maybe next year just for fresh new seeds. It's a pretty bloom though. Yours is a pretty bloom too Jackie.

So, it is Cocoa Chocolate not ! ... thank you for removing any doubt.
This is probably one of my cross - CC X Black King.
We should try : Grey Wolf X Black King !

To obtain Grey Black, King Wolf or Wolf Black !

Thanks Helena. Somewhere I have an even darker Cocoa Choc but I agree with you, it's still not as dark as Black King.

Dany nice cross, great color.

Nice pink Debra.

My tag says Blue Blizzard, sure looks a lot like Blue Silk

Your Blue Silk is beautiful, I hope to grow some next year.

Gautier, MS

Beautiful bloom Dany and a really nice cross. Seems like it's really a pretty large bloom, my CC had a bit smaller blooms than yours.

Pretty nice bloom too Debra. From my notes it might be a Hana fubuki like blooms of pink and white or it crossed.
Debra also had a Blue Silk included from my Blue Marble Not in the 2nd baggie ( dark seed). The blooms were similar to Jackies without the star just in case you sowed all seeds

Love your Blue blizzard-Blue Silk Jackie, you still could get blizzard!

(Debra) Derby, KS(Zone 6a)

I think I did sow the blue silks, Helena, but I have young vines everywhere, hope they all bloom before frost ..

Jacksonville, AR(Zone 7b)

Thanks Debra and Helena.
Debra. Blue Silk is just an extraordinary Morning Glory. I'll always make room for it.
On a sad note, I've killed my Pink Tie Dye vine :-( I was pulling weeds and vines in the ghouse and one was
tangled around my top shelf. I tugged so hard I pulled shelf and all down hitting my Tie dye breaking the stem completely off. This surely only happens to me.
Just for fun heres my Flying Saucers looking more like Blue Star? When I snapped this pic I didn't
think about the clear background, so a ghostly looking mg.
