We had so much fun. Who knew garlic could be priced up there with Prada and Gucci? Those European designer names like Italian Purple or German White grabbed us. Cindy and I are now committed to raising our own food. We are broke! FACTOID...China raises more than twelve million tons of garlic a year and India is second with half that much. The U.S. is fifth.

Mike - you asked where to get garlic - Loganberry Farms has it for sale, lots of varieties. It's $17/pound. There's also an online site with lots of different garlic farms: http://www.gourmetgarlicgardens.com/growers.html
I bought from a guy in Oregon last year - some of the garlic did really well, but I'm thinking the others that didn't may have preferred a cooler/wetter climate that we have. After some research, I learned that garlic acclimates to the climate it's grown in. So, I've been trying to find a GA or at least southern source.
