I'm giving up for a while growing my regular crops in my garden. Hate to take the fence down. Any suggestions on what to plant , if anything, while it rests and I decide what's next? What about Alfalfa? The soil is not the best (sandy, no clay, low in minerals.)
Suggestions on what to plant in unused garden
I love picking out the unusual. How about sunflowers?
Blueberries?
No, sunflowers takes work, weeding, etc. Blueberries are kind of a long term plant IMO, and want a more acid soil, if I remember correctly. I'm after improving the soil with something that takes little work.
I found a neat site that might help you.
Several kinds of clover are mentioned, as iare plants for sandy soils.
