is there a perennial basil?

sun city, CA(Zone 9a)

hate the growing season is so short on my basil, would like something year round if that exists.

I have found that in our area Thai Basil grows year round. I had mine for 4 or 5 years until a heavy frost killed mine last winder. Thai, purple basil is wonderful, I need to get more, since mine got killed by frost.

thank you. i grew genovese but now i cant remember if the frost got it or it just died after flowering. lost so many plants to frost last year. was amazed the chocolate mint and spearmint were not bothered by it.

I know my sister in law in Ohio, zone 5, never replants any of her mints...and they're in the snow belt, they come back every year.....I don't know if it's from the runners or reseeding.
We had our first freaky frost/freeze this past year, too, and most plants eventually came back (or up from seed, I never deadhead any of my basils)
