Firefox and updateswin2k

Hi, All...

I'm still running Windows 2000 (and love it). However, each time Firefox runs an update I get an error page/notice to the effect of "could not load latest update" or "patch" or something like that. Then it says I can load the latest manually at:......

Is there anyone here getting that notice? Eggs, I think you still use Win2k, right?

Also, I've recently started getting a pop-up from Mozilla/Firefox that has advertisements/articles in it and I have to click it (X) to close. That is new so I wonder if it has to do with my inability to load the newest updates (i.e., keeping pop ups at bay).

Any ideas?
