Thanks Dave! Is it possible to have the photos feature in here so we when a member ask for advice we can see the tree?

That's what the Photo forum is for. When you have a picture you want to show someone, upload it to the photo forum and then reference that thread from here.

that's how it is done in all the other forums, as well. I want to keep all images in one forum.

So what's the proper way to prune and trim the roots of a native red cedar tree. That I'm making into the a Bonsai??

I cut of some of the roots when I originally potted it. But other than that I haven't done much to it. It is about 5-6 inches tall I think.
