I've been growing flowering plants, both indoors and in the garden, for more than 60 years and now I've taken an interest in indoor ferns but I know nothing about them and I have no reference books to help me along. Help please....
A further incentive for me to learn about ferns is that the woods around the house (60 acres of them) are loaded with ferns. I'm ignorant about them too...
Anyone recommend a good beginner fern book?
The best I have found is called the "Fern Finder" by Hallowell and Hallowell - it has a great, yet easy to use key to identify ferns from SE U.S. north thru Ontario, Canada. Very useful!
Thanks...Does this also have cultural info, and does it include house care?
no, unfortunately only identification of your 'outdoor' ferns - no other information regarding propogation, etc.
