What is eating my hostas??

Leaves turn yellow from the bottom and come off easily. I see little eggs.

Do the hostas have eaten edges on the leaves? If so you are looking at the damage done by the larvae of the black vine weevil. "Eggs" are the larvae and the leaves are turning yellow because the larvae have eaten through the vascular system for that leaf. This weevil deposits her eggs on the crown of hostas. Look for an insecticide for borers and follow the mfg. directions.

Apply to all your hostas. May take several years of diligence to get rid of them.
