Not sure if this is a fern. the leaf is like stiff cardboard to touch and there is no stalk. The horizontal base of the leaf comes straight out of the ground. I,ve only ever seen two in plant sales and I purchased both. Slow grower

Having lived in Florida, I would not have thought this a fern at all.
To me it looks like a small coontie or some kind of a small cycad.
