Has anyone suffered a larger than usual fire ant infestation this year?
Each year I have an ant war, kind of like "Liningen Versus the Ants", and usually three bags of Spectracide is enough to go from April to October but this year I have used about five bags and the summer is just now in full swing. I have the Normandy Invasion of fire ants in my yard.

I have ants all over this year, I always have them but they are worse this year, I'm assuming the heat is doing it. I haven't done anything to control them, I have an acre and if I worry about it I will drive myself to drink.
J, do you live in a neighborhood? We used to pass our fire ants around...we would treat...they would go next door...they would treat and they would go across the street...and so on. Finally, we all treated on the same day at the same time. We have not had a very large mound in two years! I don't think we have any seen a mound this year! I don't know if this worked or if they moved to a yard or area that is not disturbed or treated.
