Clematis ID

Wadsworth, OH(Zone 5b)

A friend asked me to ID this clematis...I've tried but nothing seems to fit! She's new to gardening, so doesn't know which group it belongs to. I only have one photo to work with too! Does this clematis look familiar to anyone? Thanks so much in advance!

Sorry but I don't know the name. It appears to be one of the large flowered clematises so it's Class or group 2.

I was wondering if it was the single form of Proteus?

Might be. Here's a shot of my Proteus in (almost) single form:

Thanks for the responses! I searched Plant files and the only two that jumped out at me were Proteus and Juuli. Juuli looks strikingly similar, but just seems too rare to be a probable candidate. Could Proteus produce only single flowers on one particular plant?

Yes, especially if the plant is a young one or your friend lives in a warmer climate such as the south west.
