Can some identify this tropical fruit tree?

Marathon, FL(Zone 11)

A guy a few blocks from us has this tree. He used to know the name but forgot. I have searched and searched and can't find it. The skin is tough, the pulp tastes like punch, huge seed in the center:

I think you are on to something. I have a Spondias dulcis and the fruit looks very similar.
