Crested Screamer (Chauna torquata)
Amazing bird, knip. It looks like a cross between a pigeon and a duck.
It really is an amazing bird. This is the male bird who sadly lost his mate last winter - according to a sign posted by the Wetlands Centre. They are trying to find another mater for him.
I was fascinated by the bony spurs on the wings used for defence.
I missed the spurs. They could certainly inflict some damage. How sad about his mate. I hope the wetlands centre is successful in finding him a mate.
Wow what a great bird. Hope they get him a mate soon.
