Morning Storm 09. May be a cross. I can't remember what Morning Storm looked like originally

I had a couple bloomers outdoors today. No time to check the label on these.

Another pretty one!

This is probably 'Hatsu Arashi' from the look of the leaves and the blooms.

Pink Porcelain. Wrong photo. My computer has a virus again. Time to run the virus protection program...

I looked back in my old photos to see if I could find my Morning Storm photos. Looks similar to yours only mine had more blue in the color. My leaves are different too.

Thanks Emma and Becky for sharing your photos of Morning Storm. Both are
lovely blooms. My bloom looks more than anything like Xiongs Chinese. May be
a cross between Morning Storm and Xiongs
Your other blooms are pretty too Becky.

My no Mai opened today. Doesn't look at all like my no Mai blooms from 09.

This is one of the blooms that had a hard time opening.
We finally got our rain today, over 6 weeks without rain and maybe longer than that.

Morning Storm changes colors throughout the day until it becomes Purple
I looked closer at Jackie's and agree it is probably a cross since the leaves are different

Emma, I need to start one more M Storm sd just to see what it produces this time.
I've got time if I can find my sd pkt soon, lol
Dany, amazing look-a-like there .
Your Blushing Bride is a beautiful glory Helena. Your Blue Tie Dye is lovely'but it doesn't look like a Tie dye,That beautiful pattern on the petals looks like what my Star
of India made from time to time, almost like a stained glass pattern. It's a
beauty whatever it is. Your Plum Tie Dye has the typical Tie dye look.

Emma, pretty blooms

Thank you, Jackie

What I like about all those blooms Emma is how the stars or bars, all have a feathered look (like the design is bleeding). That might be what the plasma part is but I don't know that term

Jacksonville, TX(Zone 8a)

Jackie, the pattern is a 'Ray-Flow' to different degrees

The Plasma Ray-Flow name was chosen because of the effects and the coloration looks like Plasma

Plasma is considered to be a fourth state of matter

Found Moon and Stars in mid morning just as it was starting to start closing.

Jackie my Tie Dye as I call it is a cross, when I grew it years ago it had a smaller shape but was unique, the dots remained true.

Lots of unique blooms to enjoy today!!!

Jackie - You are right that your Morning Storm looks a lot like a cross of Xiongs Chinese. That's really neat to see!

Emma - Nice blooms. Do all the blooms on the vines have the Ray Flow or are there just a sporadic few blooms like that per vine? If all do, I would be interested to see an entire vine with those blooms and do they come true from seed?

Dany - Your Black King cross is lovely!

Helena - I am excited to see the blizzard pattern showing up on your Silver Wolf bloom. Hopefully you'll see more of that on future blooms. Very cool! Love all your pinks! What color is the Moon and Stars? Is it yellow or cream or white color?

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Helena - I forgot to mention how beautiful that Tye-Dye cross is! It reminds me of Karen2005's Purple Blizzard, which is really pretty like yours!

Seems I am finally getting one of my vines to produce a Sazanami #2 bloom! I am curious to see how future blooms turn out. I hope is produces blooms that are the Full Monty Sazanami! LOL!

Thanks becky,
I would say about 90% have Ray Flows, some will have a Rayed-Star. Both will have from 5 to 8 Rays. This is my 2nd year to grow these out, so I will continue to select and regrow until I know they are stable. I am especially amazed that my Plasma Ray-Flow grew back True.

Emma, thank you for your post & links on plasma ray-flow in MG flower patterns - http://davesgarden.com/community/forums/p.php?pid=8662513 .

I think it's awesome how flower patterns can mimic the paths that ionized particles take as they follow magnetic patterns in the stars - doesn't this solar storm look like a flower? - http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap001115.html

Everyone, thanks also for sharing your gorgeous flowers.

(Becky) in Sebastian, FL(Zone 10a)

Your Ray-Flows are nice, but I am partial to the speckled patterns! Something about those speckles! LOL! I always do a double-take no matter how many times I see the speckles! ♥ They will always be my favorites! Everyone I share them with just love them! :-)

(Zone 7a)

Becky, the stars do speckles, too. If we ever get a morning glory to do speckles in red and yellow like this one, we're in trouble! lol - http://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap960916.html

Gautier, MS

Becky, the Moon and Stars looked like a creamy, maybe very light yellow to me. The Parks tie dye cross didn't open much when I grew it in 2009. I found a picture below but I stored the earliest pictures from my computer to free up space. I have to look up Karens2005 bloom. Yep, I'm also hoping for something special from Silver Wolf!

Thank you, Karen,
Wow! What an awesome image. Thanks for sharing that.

Thanks becky - I too like the speckles and will be growing several colors this year

Look at this poor MG, he doesn't know what he wants to be . . . lol

Another bloom from the same vine that is also strange with 2 Rays that look as if they are fused together. So, no telling what will be next
Different though!

Karen - Solar system patterns and colors for you.

Helena - Here is a recent photo of Karen2005's Purple Blizzard that I am growing. I really like it a lot! I love the color and the crazy pattern on the blooms! Yours remind me of it. :-)
