Too sad.

I've been using reconstituted water crystals for everything as I plant clematis, annuals, perennials, etc. just to insure they'll have access to water in case we didn't get rain...but we have sufficient. It lasts for five years so one of these years it will be helpful and it can't hurt so it's a win-win situation.

Look for the name Soil Moist in stores. I'm sure many companies now make it.

I add two tablespoons to a jug and then water to within an inch or two of the top. In two hours I can use them for planting as they expand and end up looking like small, irregular "blobs" of clear Jell-o.
