When is the best time to divide daylilies in zone 7b (Alabama)? The heat this year has seemed to take its toll on mine, but I have a gorgeous red I'd love more of. Please advise when I should divide it. Also, if the plant is a little punier than usual due to the extreme weather, will that affect when I should divide it?

I seldom divide mine, because they are in a bit too much shade and multiply slowly, beut because of our hot climate, Fall is the best time to divide. But, like anything, if you baby them with extra water and bit of shade, you can divide now.
