One website suggests hydrangeas for large pation containers.
What experience have you had?
Which ones do best?
hydrangeas in a container?
These are recommended for containers by G;yn Church in the book Hydrangeas: Altona, Harlequin, Marechal Foch, Masja, Merrit's Supreme, Pia, etc. Try "compact" sized hydrangeas that do not grow too tall or wide.
Little lime would probably be a nice choice. Here, where I was just informed I'm closer to a zone 4 bordering 3 micro climate due to location; I'm not sure any cultivar will ever get extremely large, so I have a firelight hydrangea in a container that looks great! It's not blooming yet but the leaves, wish I had a picture! Hoping for blooms next year, but we'll see. This plant is a saved florist hydrangea that was forced for Easter blooms, but I think it's coming along fine.
