What type of iris?

This was sent in a trade...not what it is supposed to be! I don't know what it is though, any thoughts?

We've made some progress over the years!

It never occurred to me it might be some type of historic! I think it is beautiful whatever it is!

You can go to the Historic Iris Preservation Society website for lots of historic photos.

It does look like the one you posted just not nearly as vibrant! It is not just faded either, it bloomed that color.

It is not anything I could find on HIPS either, oh well...just another pretty NOID.
