"fuzzball" on wild rose?

Highland Heights, KY(Zone 6a)

What is this fuzzy growth on a wild rose? It has several of these. If you look closely, you can see a tiny leaflet in the center of it.

P.S. The time on the camera was not set correctly, I was not out taking pics in the woods at 2am, lol!

Ky....put that on the regular plant id thread since you haven't gotten any response. Interesting growth.

KyWoods...there was a thread a few months back about that kind of growth on a tree in Fla. Ithought it was a type of lichen but it was ID'ed as a form of Tillandsia....which makes me think it might be a form of moss growing on your rose...kinda like Spanish Moss.

Wow, maybe it hitched a ride last time my parents went home to New Orleans, lol! Interesting, thanks!
