Transition from Spring to Summer Containers
New containers are being set up ....
Various tried out ...
Less is more. I wanted a few focal point objectives here.
The floating pier is subjected to wind and boater's man made waves from time to time. So DH and I decided to secure the pot in place. The pot is accessorized with water resevoir hooked up to an irrigation system hidden from view.
To the side, the other containers were added. Mandevilla vine is a must for summer color as I begun to work on my 'Tropical Garden' to our back yard.
Tulips containers in the front lawn....
Placement of various annuals/tropical perennials plantings on April 6th. Tallest plant (in the middle) is variegated Penta for the butterflies. Red and Blue annuals of aromatic 'Scarlet' Nemesia. And 'Poetry Blue' Nemesia. Other trailing plants such as verbena to "pick up" the color of the pot, spikes likes Salvias 'Lady in Red' and a salmon color salvia to soften down the hot colors of both the Nemesia and Penta. Both hummingbirds and butterflies frequent this container quite a bit thus far.

Indoor too, container gardening is at its peak. 'AppleBlossom' Amaryllis in bloom 1st week of April.

Other hanging baskets are filling out as spring is underway for us in the Southern States.
You do know as well as I know, Pelicans do not stay here in Central Alabama. But by jorge, they do stop by on their way during migration. ^_^
That was the bonus of gardening by the water ... one can see these migratory birds;

Birds are nesting in the garden. Ducks too are looking for nesting sites.

1st week of May, Desert Rose initiated its first blooms. The plant is frost tender, but loves the hot summer outdoor here. Currently it's outdoor hopeful the next flush of blooms will return soon.
