I just found out this plant existed. I've never seen or heard of it before and I HAVE!!! to have one. But all I can find online is seeds. Does anyone know how to germinate them? Are they difficult or easy to germinate? Thanks for any help.
Cyphostemma currori
Correct spelling is Cyphostemma currorii, so you might want to also search under that name.
The following people have mother plants of this or might have small plants or seeds. It never hurts to ask, even though it might not be on their current lists:
Great Petaluma Desert: http://www.gpdesert.com/
Grigsby's Cactus Garden: http://www.cactus-mall.com/grigsby/
Rare Exotics: http://www.rareexotics.com/store/
Rare Succulents: http://www.rare-succulents.com/index.htm
You could also try the California Cactus Center (http://www.cactuscenter.com/). One can never tell what Molly might have.
Thanks! I will do just that.
No luck at those places. :-( Would still like to know how to germinate the seeds. Thanks.
I should have said that they could probably help you with your germination question too, especially Petra at Rare Succulents.
Here's a neat article on Cyphostemma which has a little info on propagation. Don't pay any attention to the note at the bottom that says we sometimes have them for sale. I haven't had any in the 8 years I've been there.

In researching this question, it seems that the seeds are very slow to germinate, and must be aged and scarified. Here are a few articles which give at least some info re how to propagate Cyphostemmas from seed.

Thanks so much. I am going to purchase the seeds on ebay and give them a try.
You're very welcome. Good luck!
Thanks. I will try to report my progress here in case it might help someone else.
Wonderful! Talk to you in 5 years. LOL!!!
LOL!!! I bet you're right.
