Poncirus trifoliata / Hardy Orange

Toronto, ON(Zone 6b)

My hardy orange started to leaf out and then stopped. The stem is turning a sickly yellow green. I fear the increadibly wet spring and perhaps compacted soil may have killed the roots. It has survived many Toronto winters with no protection and no die-back. Has anyone else suffered sudden hardy orange death? I will be trolling for fresh seed in the fall to try to grow another.

I have the Flying Dragon cultivar, which thrives with total neglect. Not fussy at all.
It's in too much shade, gets hardly any water, never fertilized, looks great.
We've had tremendous amount of rain also, but mine is in a fairly well drained site.
So maybe the moisture is the culprit.

Weerobin,
Mine is the Flying Dragon also.... can I hit you up for some seed in the fall if mine doesn't make it?

Sure, though I'm not sure it will come true from seed.
I assume mine is grafted.
I really love it, but it's dangerous to be around!

Flying dragon is used as root stock in my area and it will come true from seed.

Good to know.
At any rate, it will become apparent quickly, if not.
