any one have luck overwintering?
Clerodendrum
Didn't even know what it was, had to look that one up...LOL
was a bloom of the day not long ago... and how I first saw it
Allison - you could ask about it at every nursery and see who knows the plant and if you can successfully grow it in NJ. I'll bet you can do it as an annual or just bring it inside for the winter after you cut it back.
Yes, I think it would have to overwinter in the house, Allison.....
thanks RD
What kind of clerodendron? I just got a rooted cutting of Clerodendron trichotomum var. fargesii which I am hoping will grow into a 12' sweetly fragrant, spring blooming shrub with many season interest. Its 12' mama plant belongs to a friend of mine. Her's is happily growing in her garden in Dover, MA somewhat west of my location here in Saugus, MA on coast.
Is this the same plant as ClerodendRUM? I find both spellings lumped together in the plant files. One of them could be wrong. or both right and should be separated out. This happens to Rhododendron as well sometimes {incorrectly} spelled Rhododendrum. Some people pronounce it that way, like nuculer for nuclear.
