using glass blocks

Brewster, MN(Zone 4b)

I'm not sure this is the place to ask this question, but you all have such creative ideas, maybe someone can give me some advice. I have a pile, 60 to 70 glass blocks, that were used in place of windows in an old barn. You know what I mean? Blocks that let in the light but you can't see clearly through them. They have special meaning to me and I'd like to build something flower related with them. Maybe something to keep my hibiscus plants from blowing over or maybe plants flowers in a stack of them. Would the pots/roots get too hot? Should they be glued together? Has anyone ever worked with these? I'm open to any and all suggestions.
