Help on Tree Peony

Pittsford, NY(Zone 6a)

I have a TP that is a fairly large plant, had it 2 years. Last year there was a regular peony blooming in the bush.
Now the regular peony is larger with more stalks.
Is this the graft?
What should I do with it?

Hope you can sort the pronie from the TP

This Tree had 1 bloom last year. I wasnt disapointed because it was 2 years old.
It has 3 buds now that I can see.I would hate to loose it.

I had the same problem with mine (same bloom). When I did not cut it off, last year, it budded up this year, and then I cut it off.

Cut off the shoots of the herbaceous peony. You can tell because the leaves are different. Then plant your tree peony a bit deeper. You can do this by digging it up or by placing a few inches of dirt on top.
