Hi folks,
I took this comparison pic in hopes of getting some "maybe' names for my iris. The middle one was very likely Wabash, gotten a previous name for that. On left is a medium height one, say 30 inches, never flops over, I've had for ten years. On right is a very tall 4 foot? big one that I've had for over twenty years and came from big overgrown clumps. So has to be from before 1990. Thee were shared and likely were common commercial varieties.
Thanks if you can help me out, or just for looking.
A guess on IDs besides the Wabash?
Not saying the one on the left is this one, but they do look similar:

Check out Superstition's website....they have historics listed with photos.
There are other historic sites to check out also. Those are listed in another thread on the Iris Forum. I will check on that later on (at work now).
Another possibility:

These are from Superstition's website...there were a couple of others that were close but just from looking at your photo from one angle and the photos on their website, the above looked closer to a match. As you can see there are several that come close and this is just from one website.
Of those, Monsignor is the closest match for me. Thanks for the suggestions.

The link above is to a thread about historic iris.
Hope this helps!
Thanks irisluvr- the HIPS had a description of Monsignor for me to compare to mine
The best way to tell if it is the same is to purchase that one and grow it close by.
Well that's smart, it never occurred to me. I don't know much about iris.
