Found this one laying in the middle of Alamo Crossing Road which is in the Mojave Desert, Mojave County Arizona. I thought I would try to persuade it to move off the road so it wouldn't get run over by the next passing auto, but it had other ideas and actually...it turned out to be a dynamic action shot! When I drove off it was still alive and well, but 5 miles down the road I met a vehicle headed in the opposite direction. One can only hope...
Anyone...ID this snake?
Sidewinder Crotalus cerastes? Looks a good fit from a quick pic search.
Resin
Resin was right. Lucky you did'nt get bit. They have a tendency to be on the hostile side.
They definately go or stay where they want.
