I have always had a weak spot for this species. Back in the day when it still was known as Scilla, I used to have a big tub full of them. In my experience they are almost indestructible. Mine survived light frosts as well as temperatures up to 120 degrees without any signs of damage.
What surprized me is the amount of bulblets in the year, from where I got it with just the 3 main bulbs - I may have a big tub full in no time.
Have to show this - Avonia/Anacampseros - not sure, but I love it

Given halfways appropriate conditions, you might very well have a big tub full in no time.
I remember these as Anacampseros. That was over twenty years ago. You definitely have enough light/sun or they wouldn't make it.
I've had this one for 4 years now - the head has doubled in size, it has been mishandled a lot more than most, and still just keeps growing - gets morning sun.
My Avonia herreara is doing really well in the s/h. I had trouble growing this before.
My Avonia Quinaria bloom all summer. I keep my in full sun.
Love the color Sally - did you see there is a bug or 2 on herreara. Interesting plants avonia - something different.
Wonderful! The only one of the bunch that I ever was successful with is Anacampseros rufescens but that's not exactly a difficult one to grow...
I had Avonia quinaria a couple of years ago. I just loved it--so small and the pink flowers were so dainty. Unfortunately it rotted. I need to get a new one and try it in my s-h.
