I'm trying to ID a tree that grows in and around Juba, South Sudan. It has eye-shaped leaves, and makes a fruit that looks sort of like a mango. The fruit has no flesh, and pops open to release feathery seeds like danelion seeds. It tolerates dry conditions, and may be a native.
Does anybody know what it is?

South Sudan tree ID
Can you show a close-up of the fruit, flower, and leaves?
That looks like a milkweed tree to me. We have tons of them growing wild here in Aruba.
Looks very much like Calotropis, probably gigantea. They're a noxious weed here and in many other parts in the world, although they have nice flowers. Calotropis procera also looks similar. They're native to south east Asia, so it would be a weed in the Sudan.
A plant host for monarch butterflies if you have them there.
VERY easy to propagate from cuttings.
