"Favorites" heading vanished

Can anyone give me a hint as to what I might have inadvertently done to make my "Favorites" heading vanish? It was here till just a week or so ago (I don't use it, it's the Spousal Unit's "go to" heading for his sites). The only thing I did about that time was get a "thing" asking if I wanted to upgrade to I.E. 9...........and I did. Could that have made it disappear??? Grrrr.............
