"Smart Pills" on perennial beds?

Murfreesboro, TN(Zone 7a)

I have a shade garden surrounding a large oak tree. As the leaves come down, I'm letting them drift onto the flower beds in this area; they are filled mostly with perennials planted this past year.

I thought I might go raid my neighbor's rabbit hutch in another month or so - with permission of course :) and help myself to the rabbit droppings.

I was thinking about spreading a very thin layer of this manure over the leaves after the perennials go dormant. Good idea or bad?

Vols~ Rabbit manure has been digested twice, so it is very mild. It can even be put around plants during the growing season as a side dressing.
