Deleting unnecessary programs

I'm trying to make more room on my hard drive, as I just had to install a huge photo program for my new camera (ArcSoft). I already deleted the old one, "My Photo Center", but there is still not the recommended 17% free space needed to defrag. I'm looking through the Add or Remove list of programs to see what else I can delete.

Okay, this is an ooooold computer (hp pavilion 501N, bought in '99, Windows XP), and instead of Word, it came with Microsoft Works. Do I still need the Microsoft Works and Money 2002 setup launcher, or can I remove that? It's 26.04 mb. I do still use Works.

Also, do I need the Microsoft Compression Client Pack 1.0? It's 10.41 mb.
