Iris Photos

South Paris, ME

Hello,

The Maine Iris Society (MIS), a non-profit organization is looking to enlarge its photo files in order to enhance sales of iris rhizomes at its Annual Iris Auction which is held every July.

Paul Dostie, Vice President of MIS and volunteers are in the process of collecting iris photos of several hundred specific varieties.

The photo of each iris will be attached to an index card and identified by name, type, hybridizer, classification description and the laminated. We anticipate that this will assist the auctioneer during the bidding process and that if buyers can see a photo of each iris up for bid, that they will be more inclined to get involved in the bidding process, thus increasing the proceeds which all go to the Maine Iris Society.

For any Dave's Garden members who have not already given permission to use their images that are on davesgarden.com, one thing you might do to help is to just give permission to copy any of your images at DG. All photos will be used exclusively for the purpose stated in this email and none will ever be sold, traded or given away.

The other thing you might consider is to send images (through DG mail) that you may not have already downloaded to davesgarden. An alphabetical list of the images we still need are listed below.

We would certainly be glad to answer any further questions you may have about this project or about the Maine Iris Society, and look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

Our sincere thanks for all your help,

Devon, (theirisguy25), Volunteer, MIS
