For those of us who keep potted conifers in unheated garages over the winter, how do you tell when it is ok to put them outside? Is there something to look for in the budding of the trees outdoors that could be used as a general guide? I'm in zone 4b, my sister is in 6a, and we both are wondering the same thing.... Thanks!
When to bring conifers in pots out of winter storage?
You can bring them out any time, but you do need to be careful that new buds don't freeze on your yews, junipers, and several others.

You might try and set them in the shade for a day or two before putting them in the sun, if they're headed that way.
