Longwood Gardens / SEPOS Orchid Show - March 2011

Auburn Four Corners, PA(Zone 5a)

Some folks expressed an interest in seeing some Longwood Gardens orchid photos. It was a great show. I would say the group/type of orchids that were most impressive were the paphs. Did anyone else on this forum make it to the show?

Here's Paph. Born Cross-Eyed 'Poe Paddy'

Phragmipedium Saint Ouen 'Piping Rock Hot'

The color of this clone was absolutely amazing. Several other red Phrags. surrounded it; some taller, some larger, but this one was the star in my opinion. The brightest, most saturated red of all.

Didn't get the name on these Cymbidiums, but aren't they beautiful?

I think I have a few more photos, which I'll try to post later. Enjoy!

Good job on the photos, and thanks for the names! Now I know what to put on my want list. LOL! Got to look up that Bifrenaria....

I think the Longwood orchid show is a mecca destination for northerners the way Redlands is for those of us in the southern states.

You really did a nice job with the photos Pinetop. Such a good variety of orchids displayed. Also, that you included both species and hybrids made the show extra interesting. I think from the views they are being enjoyed by many. I have always been partial to Paph. malipoense though I've never had one.
