Picea Sitchensis Papoose

Hanover, PA(Zone 6a)

My plant is dropping most of its needles this spring and over half of the plant is bare. What would cause an established plant to do this.

Scott County, KY(Zone 5b)

Death?

You have had quite the lousy winter these past few months, including excessive precipitation. I don't know all the requirements of Sitka Spruce, but I don't think water-logged soils are their favorite conditions.

Send along some images of the plant, like the growing area and surrounds, and more information about: how long in the ground, what is your soil type, etc.

Northumberland, United Kingdom(Zone 9a)

Winterkill in zone 6. Picea sitchensis is adapted to mild winters with high humidity, and can't cope well with severe cold and dry conditions.

How long did it survive for you?
