Painting foam pots?

I'm wondering if it can be done. They are the lightweight pots you can buy from Lowe's. Mine are flaking and starting to look a little tacky. What kind of paint would I use? Thanks in advance.

I would use Krylon Fusion spray paint.

Tapla is right, you need to read the lable and some of the new paints won't melt your foam or plastic. Note that if it is not on the can ok to paint "......" it will melt your pot.
