They look like Tropical Candy Canes. :-)
Birds from Queensland part 2
You might be right Pelle.
I thought they look like Swans. ^_^
Thanks for that, kell. Even Rottnest Island, which is usually much cooler than the mainland, is having high temperatures and it's minimum was over 25C overnight. How about where you are, has the flooding subsided?

25° is unusual here even as a summer daytime maximum! Last year there were just 2 days got that hot, and none the year before.
Resin
That flooding doesn't look too good, to to close to the studio. Hope it doen't suffer any damage in the coming days. Neat looking flowers on the succulent. I took thought of Swans. :)
Keep cool Margaret!

That sounds like a perfect daytime summer temperature, Resin. It's all roundabouts and swings, though, isn't it? We have incredibly mild winters - and not the type of "mild" you said you have on one of the other threads. :)
Fingers crossed about the rain, kell. One good thing that has come out of the rain Queensland and NSW received last year was that the Murray River got a well-needed boost.

It's actually 3 or 4 degrees too hot for me! What I like best is around 22°, but even that is fairly scarce, the average summer day is more like 17° (and a bad one can be just 10° max)
Yep, it was good to read about the Murray (and Lake Eyre) refilling for the first time in years
Resin
Looks like you probably don't know the place resin.
That's true!!
Resin
Good to see you posting, kell. Looking at the news last night and hearing the forecast for northern NSW & Qld, I was a bit worried about how you were faring.
Resin, don't ever visit Australia in summer. We had 43.1 yesterday and expected hotter today and even hotter tomorrow and then a cool change - down to 38 for a few days. I want to move to Tasmania where they have sensible weather.

I don't think resin ever leaves his home town.
That Picture I posted is less than 1 hours drive from his home.
That is a Statue of Robbie Burns.
Guess you have never heard of him either ? ^_^
After this mornings 120 mm of liquid 'Sunshine'. ;o)
We are heading towards 700 mm in 3 days.
I wonder where NOAH is keeping his ARK ?
God saw how great wickedness had become and decided to wipe mankind from the face of the earth.
However, one righteous man among all the people of that time, Noah, found favor in God's eyes.
With very specific instructions, God told Noah to build an ark for him and his family in preparation for a catastrophic flood that would destroy every living thing on earth.
I think you'll find that Resin is widely travelled, kell.
I didn't think you would have heared of Robbie Burns.
Have you ever heard of Fremantle ?
It's just south of you.
LOL. Rings a vague bell.
Aaa Haaaaa! exactly my point.
If you lived at Northumberland, you would know who R B was and where he was born.
It just started pouring here again.
I was just out cleaning my Tank filter.
It was full of ants. (little buggers)
Neat!
Really nice!
It looks like blood on the underside of the wings.
But I can assure you it is not.
At the base of all these fence posts you can see flood debris.
And what level the water got to. :o(
Very interesting birds, Kell. Hope the flood is gone for good, bet there will be lot of cleaning up to do.
Yes you are right Kim.
Lots of cleaning up but no real damage.
Of cause I always loose the 3 strand barbed wire fence acros the creek.
But that has been happening for 32 years.
So that's no big deal.
Ha, your namesake, eh, ginger? Fantastic. I've tried growing them, without any success.
Sooo Margaret, You knew right away what it is.
Good for U.
It sits dormant for months and months.
I can water it every day to no avail.
As soon as it rains 'Liquid Gold' Off they go.
Hmm, what's Queensland's logo? "Queensland. Beautiful one day, perfect the next." Maybe time to revisit that one.
Be nice Margaret.
It's now going to be>>
"Queensland. Beautiful one day, wet the next."
Or even more appropriate "Wet one day, even wetter the next". And don't forget the odd cyclone or two.
