OK, this is funny....

I had a wire vine planted in a square column that's actually the remains of an old french drain. It was up against my greenhouse and looked great, until this spring. One reason was that it was overgrowing the pot. I looked at it today and the portion at the top of the pot looked like lawn thatch!
Holy crap was it ever rootbound!! It took my husband and myself pulling and tugging to release it.
First pic is out of the pot - love how the roots are shaped exactly like the pot!
Third, in it's new home in my pond garden, next to a small windmill palm.
Now I need to decide what to plant next in that column.......

Here it is in its new home. Planted just in time for the rain.

Might want to prune the roots a little, LOL.

Core,
Really?? ;)
When I finally got it out of the pot, all I could think is having to dig a hole that deep to plant it.....
Luckily, the roots only went down 2/3 of the way, for the most part, so it wasn't too difficult to plant.

I've got wire vine and it's spread all over. I know I'll be pitching some of it shortly. It's difficult enough to pull up the rooted runners, I certainly don't envy you having to chop it out of that pot.
