No shopping month, well except for the essentials

This is my first time posting to a forum ever, but I am looking for some folks that may be in the same boat as me and guidance from the frugal folks. I spend too much! I just went over my checkbook after reading an article about no shopping for a month, I am sick at what I have spent over the past few months. Guess what most of it was on........ seeds, plants, gardening supplies, and gardening books. I love my hobby, but enough is enough. I vow that I will not spend one more dime on extras until April 10, 2011. If I happen to survive, then I may extend it through the next month too!! I hope that since this is frugal living forum others can share tips on how to survive!! I will won't I???? :)
