any suggestions for favorites about witches and such?

I've read the Harry Potter Books
ditto the series with The Crystal Cave (my apologies to the author--can't remember--
ditto - Anne Rice - my apologies (again!) her series about the generational witch family.

But that is exactly what I am looking for and would appreciate all suggestions.... Take me away from the sane and safe!

Just read a discovery of witches -- first novel for history writer so well developed plot and characters if you have a taste for alchemy, history, and romance.
