my desert rose died and was looking on ebay at them but alot say grafted. what does that mean? Thanks

A grafted plant has one (or more) branches attached to it. A grafted plant has a top part (scion) and a bottom part (stock). The top part has desirable flowering traits (usually, and probably so in this case). The bottom part has better (or less sensitive) roots so the plant is easier to grow. Sometimes people graft plants as a way to propagate them, since you can just remove a branch from an existing plant and graft it onto a new stock to get the same type of flowers on a new plant.
When these plants are grafted, they are cut very carefully, the two parts placed together in just the right way, and then allowed to heal together so that they form one intact plant. What this means for you depends on the particular plant and how it was grafted. A grafted plant should be easier to grow. Why don't you ask the sellers why they grafted their plants, and then you'll learn the reason for it. Or maybe pass along more specific information here so that we can help you figure out better what's going on.

Grafted plants tend to bloom a lot longer for me.
