My clivia froze!

Brenham, TX(Zone 8b)

My clivia was left outside during the last freeze. The leaves look like they have melted....is it going to be OK? What should I do to help it?

The only thing you can do is wait to find out. Don't water it very much, keep it on the dry side, until you see leaves coming back out. the core may not have frozen,if it wasn't too cold, too long.Good luck.

Yes, that's right.
It may just be the leaves that are damaged. I have had some die back and then put out new growth. Keep them on the dry side. Is it in a pot? Mine do best with some cooler weather in the back of the greenhouse.

Mine are outdoors in zone 8b, too - they are covered with flower pots and have frozen leaves - mine come back and bloom and so should yours. Keep us posted.

Mine also got left out and the leaves were mush. It bloomed and was beautiful. I will put it in the GH next year don't want to press my luck. Happy Easter and Happy blooms Elaine
