Daily Bird Pics #379

Norman, OK

Sun is out, the thaw is on and I am enjoying it. Took a walk and discovered the GH Owl appears to be sitting in the abandoned RT nest. Maybe she will raise there again this year.

This guy is a little big for the finch feeder, but at times both he and his mate get up there.

It's amazing how fast this thread is going. I enjoy the show.

I went hunting for the Snow Bunting today, found many, but not at all easy to photograph. They are so skittish. Had to sit in the car for some time before they finally landed. But couldn't get close enough and most were in shade. I know where I can find them now and will be returning.

Burn,
I'm so envious of you being able to see and take pics of Snow Buntings...
The closest to us they seem to be is about 50 miles west of us on a good day, and only in the winter...big sigh

South Hamilton, MA

Bunting looks very proud of itself. I can do without starlings.

Burn your Snow Bunting is so cute and how lucky that you can go out and find them. I would love to see one but would have to drive too far north!!

Teddy...your male Cardinal is a handsome fella.

Hack...you always have such a good variety and some of them we don't get here. Love the Nuthatch...I've never seen one!

Hugger...we have lots of Juncos here too since the snow arrived, here is one of them.

Thanks Elphaba. That is the first time I've ever seen a Flicker land that close to the house. I felt just like Nanny when I shot that pic through the window!!

Here is another one of my many male Cardinals.

I particularly enjoyed the Snow Buntings and Horned Larks. Don't get a chance to see them here. I have seen several flocks of Lapland and Smith's Longspurs this winter, but they are very spooky and active. No pics.

A Mourning Dove on the study steps. I have a mess on this porch and the patio from too many birds holing up out of the blizzard. I need so sweep some bird poop today .:)

Quote from GrannyGrunt :
This a poor shot, but it is a Junco eating suet. I never saw that happen in the past.

We have positioned a suet feeder in our bradford pear in the front of our house, so that we can watch birds from the livingroom. The suet feeder has some small branches very close by and we have seen the juncos feeding also cardinals have been able to reach the suet feeder. What a wonderful world!!

Whiteside County, IL(Zone 5a)

Looking for some breakfast…

oops, wrong thread.
